Content Moderation Policy

1. Purpose

Throne Room LLC ("Company") is committed to maintaining a trustworthy, respectful, and safe platform for all users. This Content Moderation Policy outlines the standards for user-generated content on Throne Room (throneroom.app), including reviews, ratings, photographs, comments, and owner responses.

2. Community Standards

All user-generated content must:

  • Be based on genuine, first-hand experiences
  • Be factual and honest (opinions are welcome; fabrications are not)
  • Be relevant to the restroom or business being reviewed
  • Respect the privacy and dignity of others
  • Comply with all applicable laws

3. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited and will be removed:

  • Fraudulent reviews: Fake reviews, paid reviews, reviews by business owners about their own establishment (positive or negative), or reviews by competitors
  • Hate speech: Content that attacks individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age
  • Harassment & threats: Direct threats of violence, intimidation, doxxing, stalking, or targeted harassment of individuals
  • Explicit content: Nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence
  • Personal information: Names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information of private individuals without consent
  • Spam & commercial content: Advertisements, promotional links, affiliate links, or repetitive identical content
  • Illegal activity: Content depicting, promoting, or facilitating illegal activity
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be another person, business, or entity
  • Malicious content: Viruses, malware, or phishing links

4. Photo Upload Rules

Photos uploaded to Throne Room must comply with the following rules:

  • Relevance: Photos must depict the restroom, facilities, or conditions relevant to the review
  • No people: Photos must not contain identifiable images of individuals. We employ automated face detection processing; images containing detected faces may be automatically flagged or removed without notice
  • No explicit content: No nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic content
  • No copyrighted material: Do not upload photos you do not have the right to share
  • File requirements: Maximum 5 photos per review. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP. Maximum file size: 10MB per image

Automated Processing Notice: Uploaded images may be automatically processed for content safety, including face detection. Images flagged by automated systems may be removed without prior notice. This processing is performed to protect the privacy of individuals who may appear in photos. No facial recognition or identity matching is performed; detection is limited to identifying the presence of faces for removal purposes.

5. Reporting & Enforcement

How to report content:

  • Use the "Report" button on any review, comment, or photo
  • Select the appropriate violation category
  • Provide optional details to help our team investigate

Enforcement actions (escalating):

  • Content removal: Violating content is removed from the platform
  • Warning: Account holder is notified of the violation
  • Temporary suspension: Repeat offenders may have posting privileges suspended for 7-30 days
  • Permanent ban: Severe or repeated violations result in permanent account termination

6. Business Owner Responsibilities

Verified business owners who post responses must:

  • Respond professionally and respectfully to all reviews
  • Not threaten, harass, or attempt to identify anonymous reviewers
  • Not offer incentives for review removal or modification
  • Not post fake reviews for their own business or competitors
  • Use the platform's dispute process for factually inaccurate reviews

Owners who violate these standards may have their verified status revoked and their account terminated.

7. Appeals Process

If your content was removed or your account was actioned and you believe the decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal by emailing appeals@throneroom.app within 30 days. Include your account email, the content in question, and why you believe the action was incorrect. We will review the appeal and respond within 14 business days.

8. Section 230 & Good Faith Moderation

Pursuant to 47 U.S.C. § 230(c)(2), Throne Room LLC may, in good faith, restrict access to or remove any content that it considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected. Such good-faith content moderation shall not create liability for the Company.
